Position Overview:

The Technology Implementation Manager plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of both business processes and the technical aspects of the systems being implemented. The Functional Consultant will be responsible for interpreting high-level business strategies and translating them into actionable tasks that drive the successful implementation of business solutions. This includes configuring out-of-the-box systems, managing project timelines, and coordinating with both internal teams and clients to ensure that all deliverables meet or exceed expectations.

Technology Implementation Manager will engage with clients to understand their business objectives, customise solutions to align with these objectives, and provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to navigate complex challenges by leveraging research and development to explore new technologies and methodologies.

In addition to technical and functional expertise, the Technology Implementation Manager must excel in communication and client engagement, acting as the primary liaison between the client and the development team. This role also involves a strong emphasis on aligning project tasks with overarching strategic goals, ensuring that the solutions delivered not only meet immediate needs but also support long-term business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Analysis & Design

  • Develop functional specifications and detailed system design documentation.
  • Create user stories and acceptance criteria that align with business needs.
  • Work with technical teams to ensure that functional specifications are translated accurately into technical solutions.

Out-of-the-Box System Configuration:

  • Configure systems using out-of-the-box functionalities to meet client requirements.
  • Customize system settings, workflows, and reports to align with business processes.
  • Ensure that out-of-the-box solutions are fully leveraged before considering custom development.

Interpretation of High-Level Strategies:

  • Take the ‘future state concepts’ and high-level strategies and translate them into actionable, granular tasks.
  • Ensure alignment with the overall strategic goals defined by the company.

Project Management:

  • Create detailed project plans, including task breakdowns, timelines, and milestone definitions.
  • Assign resources and coordinate with both customers and internal teams.
  • Manage timelines and ensure all tasks are completed within set deadlines.

Coordination with Development Teams:

  • Assign development tasks for custom features or functions that are not available out-of-the-box.
  • Work closely with developers to understand the technical implications and guide them through the project.

Customer Engagement:

  • Schedule training and testing sessions with customers during various stages of implementation.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers during the execution phase.

Problem Solving & Innovation:

  • Handle unexpected challenges and unknowns in technology by researching alternatives or developing new solutions.
  • Collaborate with leadership and the development team to overcome obstacles and forge new paths forward.

R&D Integration:

  • Engage in research and development as part of the project, especially when dealing with cutting-edge technology or uncharted areas.

Post-Implementation Support:

  • Offer post-implementation support to troubleshoot and resolve any functional issues.
  • Work with clients to gather feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in roles such as Technology Implementation Manager, Functional Consultant, Business Analyst, or similar positions.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, etc.), with a strong understanding of out-of-the-box configurations and custom development.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience in coordinating with development teams and managing customer relationships throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of business processes across various industries, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, with experience in creating detailed project plans and managing timelines.
  • Familiarity with data migration, integration processes, and system configuration using out-of-the-box functionalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges and finding innovative solutions.
  • Leadership abilities to guide teams, manage resources, and drive projects to successful completion.
